About Us

The Sugar Research Advisory Service (SRAS) is a scientific information service for health professionals, academics and the media. Founded in 2002, it aims to provide evidence-based information on the role of sugars in nutrition and health.

The SRAS is funded by Sugar Australia and New Zealand Sugar, and managed by a team of qualified nutrition professionals that include Accredited Practising Dietitians and Registered Dietitians from Australia and New Zealand. These nutrition professionals are employed by Sugar Australia and New Zealand Sugar.

The evidence-based information provided by the SRAS includes:

All information provided by the SRAS is independently reviewed by a group of scientific experts who are experienced in human nutrition, dietetics and food science. These experts receive funding from Sugar Australia and New Zealand Sugar for their time related to provision of evidence-based counsel.
